Comedians are taking over The Lowry this Autumn!

As well as jam-packed programme of live comedy events in all of our theatres we’re bringing the National Portrait Gallery’s touring exhibition Comedians to our Promenade Gallery.

Featuring over 50 photographic portraits of some of comedy’s most celebrated figures, the exhibition includes images of longstanding comedy greats such as Benny Hill, Sid James and Eric Morecambe, alongside recent contemporary photographs of Mitchell and Webb, Matt Lucas and Johnny Vegas.

As well as the chance to see this fantastic collection of photographs we want you to get involved and show us your love for comedy.

Who’s your favourite?

With an exhibition featuring the best of comedic talent from the 1940’s to the present day we’re intrigued to see who is everyone’s favourite comedian is…national treasures such as Morecambe and Wise or modern legends such as Mitchell & Web? Vote for your favourite and we can find out the Lowry audience’s most popular comedian.
