The Lowry Young Actors Company was established to train talented young people in the North West for careers in theatre, television and film. The company is a vehicle for training, developing and showcasing their talent to the industry. Work created is regularly presented to industry professionals who are seeking to employ actors aged 11 to 19 for professional work.
Among our most recent successes have been Persephone Swales-Dawson who has recently joined the cast of Hollyoaks as new character Nico.
We offer weekly training and development sessions alongside rehearsals for productions. Members also develop their audition skills and regularly attend castings for films, commercials and theatre and we’re always looking to find professional opportunities and experiences for our members. The Company also get the opportunity to see professional productions at The Lowry – from A Frantic Assembly’s Shakespeare’s Othello to Dr. Tuheen Huda’s Transmissions. We also offer development training programme called Lowry Young Creatives to older members wishing to develop skills in writing, directing, set design and stage management.
If you think a career in stage or screen is for you then book a place on our next audition day on Sunday 13 July at The Lowry, starting at 10am. You will need to prepare two speeches one contemporary and one classical of no more than 2 minutes each. For more information and relevant forms please visit www.thelowry.com
