One night only: one the of the world’s earliest operas, based on a deadly true story.
Power, politics and intrigue from Opera North this weekend…. if you loved House of Cards, you’ll love The Coronation of Poppea.
Just like in Game of Thrones, anyone, however good and noble, can end up dead.
Loosely based on true events from 1st century Rome, Poppea tells of Emporer Nero’s dangerous obession for the beautiful Poppea, and his ruthless destruction of any obstacle that stands between them.
