Young Parents can get involved with Storytelling projects at Sure Start Centre’s across Salford with The Lowry.
Young Parents in Langworthy & Little Hulton are starting a brand new storytelling project on Mon 29 June at Belvadere Sure Start centre with The Lowry. Every Monday 12.30 – 2.30pm Young Parents and their children will work with a specialist children’s theatre maker to explore stories, characters, play and music. The project aims to build parent’s confidence in using stories and play to stimulate imagination, develop literacy skills and encourage effective communication. Sessions will take place at the Sure Start Centres each week and the project will finish with an interactive storytelling playground with parents, children and professional performers collaborating in a final sharing.
At the end of the project each child will have their own storytelling kit complete with props, costume, musical instruments and a CD. The aim is to equip the parents and children with skills, tools and ideas that they can easily replicate at home. Contact Belvadere Sure Start centre’s directly to sign up.
