Students of The Lowry’s Centre for Advanced Training in Dance (CAT) will be performing their second full length work ‘SEQUENT: a sense of decisive indecision’ on Sat 25 & Sun 26 July.
The performance has been developed in a yearlong choreographic process with world renowned contemporary dance company, Wayne McGregor | Random Dance.
SEQUENT: a sense of decisive indecision! encapsulates the idea of structured chaos. In taking the Mind and Movement Theory by Wayne McGregor, dancers worked with Associate Director Odette Hughes and dancers from the company over the 2014/15 academic year. They explored how instant responses to choreographic tasks enables unique patterns to form, evolve and become re-defined to create a new unique and inspiring work.
The piece is a testament to the level of dedication and overall work ethic of the dancers and the support of their passionate and dedicated team of tutor. SEQUENT: a sense of decisive indecision is a performance not to be missed. CAT is a national training scheme created in order to nurture and support those with potential, ambition and determination from the North West, to work towards professional training.
Sunday’s event also welcomes dancers from The Royal Ballet primary STEPS programme in Blackpool, who will be performing a new work choreographed by tutors Rob Bell and Sarah Gough.
