First of all, introductions! My name is Charlie and I’m a new addition to the marketing team at The Lowry, but I’m also a third year English Literature student at the University of Salford. I’ve combined my love of the theatre and all things creative with my love to talk (even if it is through a computer screen) and enthusiastically agreed to run a blog for The Lowry’s Under 26 scheme.
So, if you don’t know already, here at The Lowry we run an amazing scheme for 16 – 25 year olds which enables members to get their hands on theatre tickets from as little as £5. It’s a pretty sweet deal. It’s completely free to sign up to, and as well as cheap tickets, your membership gets you discounts on food and drink at our Pier Eight bar. This means that whether you’re a student or just a bit strapped for cash, it’s possible to grab yourself a meal and a night at the theatre for under £20. Bargain or what?
‘But what have you got to offer next month?’ I hear you cry. Some extremely exciting performances, that’s what. We love a bit of everything here, so we’ve got a whole range of shows to try and make sure we satisfy as many diverse tastes as we can. Dance? You got it. Drama? Naturally. Circus. Of flippin’ course! (See what I did there). We’ve even got discounted tickets available for Opera North! So really, you’d be doing yourself a disservice to not sign up and come along…
At the very start of November we’re thrilled to be able to offer you tickets to Hedda Gabler for a tiny sum of only £10! Hedda and Tesman are just back from their honeymoon, but they’re not as happy as you’d think. From the producers of Warhorse, this dramatic production will take you through the twists and turns of Hedda’s life as she attempts to manipulate and control those around her whilst she herself unravels.
If you’re a drama geek, or you love Shakespeare, or even just get a thrill out of dramatic tragedy – (or all three like me) – then get yourself a ticket to Hedda Gabler. Showing from 31st October til 4th November. What’s stopping you?
The second week of the month brings glamour and shebang to you for virtually nothing, with tickets to Cabaret only £10. Show stopping choreography? Check. Dazzling costumes? Check. Iconic songs performed by Will Young? Check. Yeah – seriously!
You’ve nothing to lose but all to miss if you don’t snatch up tickets to this exciting, vibrant, and enthralling performance, here for four days only from 7th – 11th.
So you want to put your fancy pants on and enjoy a night of playing make believe, where you’re all rich and wealthy? No problem. We have tickets to three, yes three, double-bill performances from Opera North sat waiting for you for the humble price of £10 per performance.
Choose from Pagliacci & Cavalleria Rusticana (an opera about a play – Meta? Sort of.), L’Enfant Et Les Sortilèges & Osud (an enchanting tale of a young troublemaker who gets his comeuppance), or witness the painful truth of 1950s suburbia in Trouble in Tahiti & Trial by Jury. We really have got it all. Take your pick of the three or treat yourself to multiple performances. It’s too cheap not to. Click here to find out more
Your stomach will be doing backflips (sorry) in anticipation for the acrobatic astonishment of a circus performance which is Flown. The award winning company Pirates of the Carabina brings you the world of the unexpected. Comedy, chaos, live music and much more, you’ve simply got to witness the absurdity of circus life. You even get to go backstage and for just £5!
You thought that was it? Don’t be daft, we have plenty more to offer you throughout November, including £10 tickets to the hit production of Elf –The Musical! For more info or to sign up to the U26 scheme, simply search ‘Lowry U26’ or click here.
And that’s me off. But don’t worry, you’ll be hearing from me next month with some more cheap and fabulous offers for December! Keep your eyes peeled.
