Set to bring their latest immersive piece of critically acclaimed theatre Take on Me to Broughton Leisure Centre in February: Dante or Die are taking on another project in association with The Lowry.
Young Theatre Makers is a new pathway at The Lowry for young creatives to form an ensemble, creating bold, innovative and non-traditional theatre. The first cohort of the programme: self-branded- The OFFSTAGE Ensemble will be working alongside professional theatre company Dante or Die to create their premier piece.
Dante or Die specialise in creating bold, site-specific performances transforming ordinary spaces to create unique and intimate theatrical experiences. The Lowry and Dante or Die have worked closely together on a number of projects, supporting their critically acclaimed work when it tours to Greater Manchester.
Steph Green: Youth Arts Manager who oversees the Young Theatre Makers pathway says:
“It’s incredible that, in its pilot year, the Young Theatre Makers are working with a company as brilliant as Dante or Die. Having seen their work and read about their ethos, they are truly the perfect fit and we cannot wait to get going!”
The company will work collaboratively with Young Theatre Makers towards a performance in May in a non-theatre space: infusing the young people’s work with their distinctive style and approach to theatre making. They will also be supported by Hebe Reilly the group’s Ensemble Leader who has been preparing the group for starting work on the show.

There are a limited amount of places still available to join Young Theatre Makers in January open to 13-19 year olds people living in Salford: contact email@example.com if you’re interested in performance, design or directing.
