For most people, first dates can be a nerve wracking experience. Well one group of theatre makers have decided to take it on themselves to smooth it all out and guide you through the perfect date. All through a voice in your ear.
‘Binaural Dinner Date’ is an interactive theatre performance by the award-winning ZU-UK. It will come to The Lowry’s Tower Coffee Shop Thu 28 – Sat 30 March. Here we caught up with co-founder of ZU-UK Jorge Lopes Ramos to find out what we can expect from the experience.
Binaural Dinner Date is no ordinary theatre experience, what can audience members expect?
Expect to be guided carefully from beginning to end. Expect to be looked after, explore what it means to be human in front of another human. To be shy, thoughtful and to have fun.
What’s the best reaction you’ve had from an audience member?
Many audience members have kept coming back for more dates, which is really special!
What do you think makes the perfect date?
Raw humanity, humour, and just a little touch of darkness.
Have you ever had a date where two strangers hit it off?
Over 20 couples so far – that we know of!
If you could describe Binaural Dinner Date in three words, what would they be?
Not so scary (as one might think!)
‘Binaural Dinner Date’ is brought to The Lowry ZU-UK. The show will run at the Salford venue Thu 28 – Sat 30 March 2019. For more information and tickets visit the website or call box office on 0843 208 6000.
