The Lowry is the largest cultural attraction in the North West and is situated at the heart of Salford Quays, right next door to MediaCityUK, (the new home of the BBC in the north, and one of the world’s most exciting culture and media destinations). We welcome some of world’s best theatre and dance companies to our stages: the National Theatre, Rambert, Birmingham Royal Ballet and the RSC to name a few, along with many hit West End musicals, top stand up comedians and major music acts. The Lowry also houses the permanent LS Lowry collection of paintings alongside a changing programme of visual art exhibitions in our Galleries.
Over 800,000 people come through The Lowry’s doors every year to enjoy a show, whether that’s drama, opera, ballet, dance, musicals, children’s shows, music, comedy, or a visit to the Gallery. We also run an extensive Learning and Participation programme, working with people of all ages across our communities to provide opportunities to engage with the arts.
